Artist - Teacher - Researcher

Growing up beside with the woods of Sliabh na mBan in Co. Tipperary, I developed an early and enduring connection to the natural world that continues to shape every aspect of my creative and professional life. Nature has always been a deep interest for me, and it is through art that I found a way to experience, interpret, and honour the landscapes that surrounded me.

Now in the final year of my B.Ed. in Art and Design Education at the Limerick School of Art and Design, I am committed to expanding my practice as an a/r/tographer (artist, teacher, and researcher). My work consistently returns to themes rooted in place, personal/sensory experience, and the experience of natural environments. I see great potential in the direction my practice is taking, and I am driven by a desire to continue deepening the conversations my work opens.

As a developing art educator, my creative practice profoundly informs how I teach. I believe that meaningful art education emerges from curiosity, meaningful connection, and an interest in observing the world closely and intently. Through my teaching, I hope to inspire students to engage with the environments around them, whether natural or built, and to use creative processes as a way of understanding their own worlds.

Throughout my studies, I have had the opportunity to exhibit my work in several public exhibitions, which has allowed me to share my practice with wider audiences and gain professional experience in curating and presenting artwork. As part of my year group, we organised and curated our own student exhibition, Tethered and Becoming, in People's Museum Limerick. This was an invaluable experience that strengthened my interest in collaborative projects, exhibition curation, and community engagement through art.

As I continue to evolve as an artist and educator, I aim to carry forward the same sense of inquisitiveness that first emerged in the woods of Slievenamon. My goal is to create and teach in ways that enrich both my own practice and the creative journeys of those I work with.
